In an intense game held at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20, the Montana State University Bobcats were defeated by the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 5-2. Despite the Bobcats’ valiant effort, the Utes were able to maintain control throughout the match.

The Utes dominated the game with a total of 38 shots, while the Bobcats were close behind with 31 shots. The Bobcats had two powerplays but were unable to capitalize on either, while the Utes didn’t have any powerplay opportunities.

In the goal, Utes’ Miranda De Antunano had a strong game, with 29 saves out of 31 shots. On the Bobcats’ side, Reese McConnell also put up a good fight, saving 33 out of 38 shots.

Player of the game was undoubtedly Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who managed to score two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz stood out with one goal.

The Bobcats will have a chance to bounce back in their next game, which will be a home match against Grand Canyon University.
