The Montana State University Bobcats pulled off an impressive 3-1 victory over the University of Colorado Buffaloes in a nail-biting game at the Haynes Pavilion on October 18, 2025.
Despite the Buffaloes firing off 32 shots, it was the Bobcats who proved more efficient with their 26 shots. Both teams had four powerplay opportunities, but neither could convert, showing the strength of both teams’ defensive lines.
The goalkeeping was a highlight of the game, with the Buffaloes’ Zoe Watson saving 23 of the 26 shots she faced. However, it was Bobcats’ Reese McConnell who stole the show, making a whopping 31 saves from the 32 shots taken by the Buffaloes.
The Bobcats’ victory was spearheaded by Nicola Roberts, who scored two out of the three goals. The Buffaloes’ only goal came from Anna Masiello, who fought hard but couldn’t turn the tide for her team.
This victory sets a positive tone for the Bobcats as they prepare for their next game, away against the University of Washington on Friday, October 24 at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Washington. The Bobcats will be hoping to carry this momentum into their next match and continue their winning streak.
