The Montana State University Bobcats showed their prowess on the ice last night with a 3-1 victory over the University of Colorado Buffaloes at Haynes Pavilion. The game, which took place on October 18th, 2025, was a thrilling display of skill and strategy from both teams.
Despite having fewer shots on goal, the Bobcats managed to outscore the Buffaloes with a total of 3 goals to their 1. The Buffaloes had 32 shots on goal, but only managed to convert one into a goal, thanks to the stellar performance of Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell. McConnell faced 32 shots and made an impressive 31 saves, only letting one shot from Anna Masiello of the Buffaloes find the back of the net.
In contrast, the Bobcats had 26 shots on goal, with Nicola Roberts scoring twice, leading the team to victory. The Buffaloes’ goalie, Zoe Watson, made 23 saves but wasn’t able to stop the Bobcats’ offensive onslaught.
Both teams had four powerplays, but neither team was able to capitalize on these opportunities, further highlighting the strength of both teams’ defensive efforts.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game on October 24th, where they’ll face off against the University of Washington at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Washington. The Bobcats will surely be looking to continue their winning streak.
