The Montana State University Bobcats celebrated a thrilling 3-1 victory over the University of Colorado Buffaloes on October 18 at the Haynes Pavilion. Despite the Buffaloes firing off more shots, the Bobcats showed their defensive prowess and capitalized on their opportunities.
The Buffaloes came out strong with 32 shots against the Bobcats’ 26. However, Bobcats goalie Reese McConnell stood tall in the net, making an impressive 31 saves. His counterpart, Buffaloes’ Zoe Watson, made 23 saves.
Neither team could capitalize on their powerplays, with both the Buffaloes and Bobcats going 0/4. The game, however, was far from a stalemate. The Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts stepped up and delivered two crucial goals, leading her team to victory.
The Buffaloes’ only goal came from #6 Anna Masiello. Despite their best efforts, they couldn’t break through the Bobcats’ solid defense and goaltending.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game. They’ll be hitting the road to face the University of Washington on Friday, October 24 at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Washington. Stay tuned for more exciting hockey action from our Bobcats!
