In an exciting matchup at Haynes Pavilion on the evening of October 18th, the Montana State University Bobcats took home a well-deserved win against the University of Colorado Buffaloes with a final score of 3-1.
Despite the Buffaloes taking more shots at the goal with a total of 32, the Bobcats proved more efficient, converting three of their 26 shots into goals. Both teams, however, struggled with powerplays, with neither team managing to score during their respective four opportunities.
The goalies for both teams put on a commendable performance. Zoe Watson of the Buffaloes faced a total of 26 shots, saving 23. However, it was Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell who stole the show, saving an impressive 31 out of 32 shots.
The Buffaloes’ only goal came courtesy of Anna Masiello, while the Bobcats’ Nicola Roberts proved instrumental in securing the win, contributing two of the Bobcats’ three goals.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game, an away match against the University of Washington on Friday, October 24th at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Washington.
