The Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes 4-2 at Haynes Pavilion on January 17, 2026. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats couldn’t quite match the Utes’ offensive prowess.
The Utes outshot the Bobcats 42-33, with their goalie, Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine, saving 31 of the 33 shots she faced. On the other side of the rink, Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson had a busy night, stopping 38 of the 42 shots that came her way.
The Utes’ powerplay unit couldn’t convert any of their six opportunities, while the Bobcats managed to score once on their four powerplay chances.
The highlight for the Utes was a standout performance by #20 Ashley Paterson, who scored two goals. For the Bobcats, #19 Aziana Schacht managed to find the back of the net once.
The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game, which is a home fixture against Colorado State University on Friday, January 23, at Haynes Pavilion. They’ll be hoping for a better outcome and to get back on the winning track.
