In a hard-fought match last night at Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 4-2. Despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, the Utes managed to maintain a firm grip on the game.

The Utes dominated the game with a total of 42 shots against the Bobcats’ 33. However, the Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, put up a strong defense, saving 38 out of the 42 shots. On the other side, the Utes’ goalie, Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine, also showcased a commendable performance, saving 31 out of 33 shots.

The Bobcats managed to score on one of their four powerplays, while the Utes were unable to capitalize on any of their six powerplay opportunities. This proves the strength of the Bobcats’ special teams, despite the end result.

Highlighting the individual players, Utes’ #20 Ashley Paterson managed to score two crucial goals, while Bobcats’ #19 Aziana Schacht contributed one goal for the team.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game, which is a home match against Colorado State University on Friday, January 23 at Haynes Pavilion. The team is hopeful for a strong performance and a chance to redeem this loss.
