The Montana State University Bobcats suffered a 4-2 defeat against the University of Utah Utes in a thrilling match at Haynes Pavilion last night. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats fell short, with the Utes taking the victory.

The Utes outshot the Bobcats 42-33, putting immense pressure on Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson. Carlson, however, put up a strong fight, making 38 saves out of the 42 shots she faced. On the other side, Utes’ goalie Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine also showcased her skills, saving 31 out of the 33 shots from the Bobcats.

The Bobcats managed to capitalize on one of their four powerplays, while the Utes failed to convert any of their six powerplays into goals. This shows the strength of the Bobcats’ defense, even in the face of defeat.

The highlight of the night for the Bobcats was Aziana Schacht, who scored one of the two goals for the team. On the Utes’ side, Ashley Paterson was the star player, scoring two goals.

The Bobcats will now turn their attention to their next game, a home match against Colorado State University on Friday, January 23, at Haynes Pavilion. The team will be looking to bounce back from this defeat and secure a victory in their upcoming match.
