In a hard-fought game at Haynes Pavilion on January 17th, the Montana State University Bobcats fell short against the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 4-2. Despite a spirited performance, the Bobcats couldn’t overcome the Utes’ relentless offense.

The Utes fired off an impressive 42 shots, while the Bobcats managed 33. The Bobcats’ powerplay was somewhat successful, scoring once in four opportunities. However, the Utes’ defense held strong, shutting down all six of the Bobcats’ powerplay attempts.

In the goaltending department, the Utes’ Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine put on a solid performance, stopping 31 of 33 shots. On the other side of the rink, Emma Carlson of the Bobcats also put up a valiant effort, saving 38 out of 42 shots.

The Utes’ #20 Ashley Paterson was the standout player of the match, scoring two crucial goals. For the Bobcats, #19 Aziana Schacht managed to find the back of the net once.
