The Montana State University Bobcats delivered a stunning performance on home ice last night, cruising to a 9-3 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes. The game, held at Haynes Pavilion, saw the Bobcats dominate the ice with an impressive 58 shots compared to the Pokes’ 32.
Despite the Pokes’ attempts to turn the tide with five powerplays, they were unable to capitalize on any, leaving them trailing behind the Bobcats. The Bobcats, although they also didn’t score on their three powerplays, managed to keep the Pokes at bay with their aggressive offense.
In the goal, Bobcats’ Emma Carlson faced 32 shots and made 29 saves, a commendable performance that contributed significantly to the team’s victory. On the other end, the Pokes’ goalie Alayna Smith had a tough night, facing a barrage of 58 shots and making 49 saves.
The star of the night was undoubtedly Bobcats’ #19, Aziana Schacht, who delivered an exceptional performance with four assists. For the Pokes, #40 Lena Roubinek managed to score two goals, but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap.
The Bobcats will face off against the Pokes again on Saturday, February 7, at Haynes Pavilion. With their current momentum, the Bobcats are definitely the team to watch.
