In a thrilling display of skill and power, the Montana State University Bobcats outplayed the University of Wyoming Pokes with a stunning 9-3 victory at the Haynes Pavilion on February 6th, 2026.
The Bobcats were relentless, peppering the Pokes’ goal with 58 shots compared to the Pokes’ 32. Despite the Pokes’ commendable effort, the Bobcats’ offensive prowess was too much to handle. Neither team was able to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/5 and the Bobcats 0/3.
Pokes’ goalie Alayna Smith had a busy night, with 58 shots fired her way. She managed to save 49, but the Bobcats’ relentless offense resulted in 9 goals. On the other side of the rink, Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson had a relatively quieter night, facing 32 shots and saving 29.
The Pokes’ #40 Lena Roubinek managed to score 2 goals, but it was Bobcats’ #19 Aziana Schacht who truly shined with an impressive 4 assists, contributing significantly to the Bobcats’ victory.
The Bobcats will be looking to continue their winning streak in their next game, which is a home game against the University of Wyoming on Saturday, February 7th, at Haynes Pavilion. We’re excited to see if they can keep up this momentum and secure another victory.
