The Montana State University Bobcats demonstrated their prowess on the ice this Sunday, overpowering the University of Wyoming Pokes with a 9-3 victory at Haynes Pavilion.
The Bobcats dominated the game from the get-go, outshooting the Pokes 58-32. Despite the Pokes’ best efforts, their powerplay fell short, resulting in a 0/5 performance. The Bobcats didn’t fare much better in powerplays, with a 0/3 performance. However, it was their relentless offensive pressure that tipped the scales in their favor.
Pokes goalie Alayna Smith faced a barrage of shots, making 49 saves out of 58. On the other side of the rink, Bobcats’ Emma Carlson displayed a stellar performance, saving 29 out of 32 shots.
The Pokes’ Lena Roubinek, #40, managed to break through the Bobcats’ defense twice, scoring two goals. However, it was the Bobcats’ Aziana Schacht, #19, who stole the show with her outstanding playmaking abilities, assisting four goals.
The Bobcats will be looking to continue their winning streak as they once again face the Pokes at home in Haynes Pavilion on Saturday, February 7.
