The Montana State University Bobcats put on a stellar performance last night, defeating the University of Wyoming Pokes with a resounding 9-3 victory at Haynes Pavilion.

The Bobcats outshot the Pokes 58 to 32, demonstrating their offensive prowess and keeping the Pokes’ goalie, Alayna Smith, on her toes throughout the game. Smith managed to save 49 shots, but the Bobcats’ relentless attack resulted in a total of nine goals.

On the other end of the ice, Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, had a solid game, saving 29 out of 32 shots. Despite the Pokes’ five powerplay opportunities, they were unable to capitalize on any, leaving them trailing behind the Bobcats who, although not scoring on their three powerplays, managed to keep a significant lead throughout the game.

Pokes’ #40 Lena Roubinek put in a commendable effort with two goals, but it was Bobcats’ #19 Aziana Schacht who stole the show with an impressive four assists, contributing significantly to the Bobcats’ victory.

The Bobcats will face the Pokes again at home on Saturday, February 7th at Haynes Pavilion. After this dominant performance, the Bobcats are undoubtedly looking forward to the rematch.
