The Montana State University Bobcats showcased a dominant performance last night, defeating the University of Wyoming Pokes 4-1 at Haynes Pavilion. The Bobcats, despite being outshot 55-35, managed to secure a comfortable victory, demonstrating their resilience and tactical prowess.
The Pokes, despite their aggressive offensive strategy, failed to capitalize on their chances. Their powerplay performance was disappointing, as they failed to convert any of their three chances. Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, faced 35 shots and managed to save 31, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Bobcats at bay.
On the other hand, the Bobcats, despite having fewer shots, showed their clinical finishing skills. Their powerplay performance was also lackluster, with no goals from four attempts. However, their goalie, Reese Mcconnell, was the star of the night, making an impressive 54 saves from 55 shots.
Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts and Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown both found the back of the net, adding to the excitement of the match.
The Bobcats will look forward to carrying this momentum into their next game, a home match against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink (CO). The Bobcats’ fans will be hoping for another thrilling performance and a positive result.
