In an exciting display of skill and strategy, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious over the University of Wyoming Pokes with a 4-1 win on February 7th, 2026. The game, held at Haynes Pavilion, saw both teams fighting hard for the win, but ultimately the Bobcats proved to be the stronger team.
The Pokes led the game in shots, with a total of 55 attempts, but the Bobcats’ defense was unyielding, allowing only one goal. This was largely due to the stellar performance of Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell, who made an impressive 54 saves out of 55 shots. Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash, despite a valiant effort, was not able to prevent the Bobcats from scoring four goals out of their 35 shots.
Both teams struggled to capitalize on powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. However, this did not hinder the Bobcats’ offensive efforts, as they managed to score four goals, one of which was made by #26 Nicola Roberts. The Pokes’ sole goal was scored by #2 Zoey Brown.
The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game, a home match against the University of Utah. The game will take place on Friday, February 20 at 7:30 pm MST at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. The Bobcats’ fans are eagerly anticipating another win for their team.
