The Montana State University Bobcats celebrated a resounding victory against the University of Wyoming Pokes in a high-intensity game at Haynes Pavilion. The final score was a decisive 4-1 in favor of the Bobcats.
Despite the Pokes outshooting the Bobcats with 55 shots to 35, the Bobcats showed superior defensive prowess. The Pokes were unable to convert any of their three powerplay opportunities, while the Bobcats also went 0 for 4 on the powerplay.
Pokes goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, managed to save 31 out of 35 shots. However, it was Bobcats’ Reese McConnell who stole the show with an impressive 54 saves out of 55 shots, allowing only a single goal by Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown.
Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts also made her mark on the game, scoring one of the four goals that led the Bobcats to victory.
The Bobcats look forward to carrying this momentum into their next game, at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team’s strong performance against the Pokes has set high expectations for the upcoming match.
