The Montana State University Bobcats demonstrated their prowess on the ice last night, February 7, 2026, in a well-deserved 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes at Haynes Pavilion.
Despite the Pokes firing off a staggering 55 shots, Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell was a wall in the net, making an impressive 54 saves. This was a significant factor in the Bobcats’ victory. On the other hand, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash faced 35 shots and managed to save 31.
The Pokes were the first to light the lamp with #2 Zoey Brown scoring the only goal for her team. However, the Bobcats quickly recovered with #26 Nicola Roberts tying the game. The Bobcats then went on to score three more unanswered goals, sealing their victory.
Both teams had several powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. Despite the lack of powerplay goals, the Bobcats managed to maintain control of the game.
The Bobcats will be riding high on this victory as they prepare for their next game. They will face the University of Utah at home on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for another exciting game of hockey.
