The Montana State University Bobcats delivered an impressive performance last night, defeating the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. The game, held at Haynes Pavilion, was an exhilarating display of skill and strategy from both teams.
Despite the Pokes taking more shots at the goal (55) compared to the Bobcats (35), the Bobcats proved to be more accurate and efficient in their scoring. Both teams were unable to capitalize on their powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
In the goalie showdown, Pokes’ Pudgie Sabinash made 31 saves out of 35 shots, while Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell had an outstanding night with 54 saves out of 55 shots.
The scoring was led by Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown and Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts, both contributing one goal each. The Bobcats, however, managed to put three more past the Pokes’ goalie, securing their victory.
The Bobcats are now looking forward to their next game: a home fixture against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20 at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. This win has surely boosted their morale and we can expect another exciting game. Stay tuned for more updates and go Bobcats!
