In an exciting game at the Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats clinched a decisive 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes on February 7, 2026. Despite the Pokes having a higher shot count of 55 as compared to the Bobcats’ 35, it was the Bobcats who emerged victorious, thanks to their superior goal conversion.

The Pokes failed to capitalize on their three powerplay opportunities, while the Bobcats also drew a blank in their four attempts. The game saw relentless action from both sides with Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, making 31 saves out of 35 shots and Bobcats’ Reese McConnell impressively saving 54 out of 55 shots.

The scoring action saw Pokes’ #2, Zoey Brown, and Bobcats’ #26, Nicola Roberts, each netting a goal. Despite the loss, the Pokes put up a spirited fight, but the Bobcats’ defense, led by McConnell, proved to be impenetrable.

The Bobcats will be looking to carry this winning momentum into their next game at home against the University of Utah. The game is scheduled for Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for more exciting hockey action!
