The Montana State University Bobcats suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to the Grand Canyon University Antelopes in a heart-wrenching match at AZ Ice Arcadia on January 30th, 2026.
The Antelopes outshot the Bobcats with a whopping 52 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 28. Despite the disparity in shots, the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, put up an impressive performance, saving 51 of the 52 shots. Unfortunately, it was the one shot that got through, scored by the Antelopes’ #5 Taylor Zahalka, that decided the game in favor of the Antelopes.
Both teams had four power plays each, but neither could capitalize on the opportunity, leaving the power play stats at 0/4 for both sides. The Bobcats’ #19 Aziana Schacht received two penalty minutes during the game.
The Bobcats will look to bounce back from this defeat in their next game against the University of Arizona, scheduled for January 31st at 6:15 pm MST at AZ Ice Peoria. The Bobcats will undoubtedly bring their A-game to this match, aiming to secure a win and regain their momentum.
