In the world of collegiate hockey, the Montana State University Bobcats pulled off a stunning victory against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes. Despite being heavily outshot, the Bobcats emerged victorious with a 3-2 win on 1st February 2026, at AZ Ice Arcadia.
The Bobcats showcased a defensive masterclass, with their goalie, Reese McConnell, standing tall against the onslaught of 55 shots by the Antelopes. McConnell made an impressive 53 saves, keeping the Bobcats in the game and frustrating the Antelopes’ attack.
On the offensive end, the Bobcats made the most of their opportunities. Despite having only 23 shots, they managed to score three goals, thanks to their efficient powerplay, which was successful 2 out of 4 times. Nicola Roberts, wearing #26 for the Bobcats, was the star of the show, scoring two crucial goals.
The Antelopes, despite their dominant possession and a total of 55 shots, could only beat McConnell once in open play and once on the powerplay. Their lone goalscorer was #17, Abigail Brigg. Their goalie, Sydney Fornwald, faced 23 shots and made 20 saves.
