The Montana State University Bobcats suffered a heartbreaking loss in overtime against the University of Arizona Wildcats this past Sunday, with a final score of 5-4. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats fell short at AZ Ice Peoria, Arizona.
The Bobcats fired 39 shots on goal, while the Wildcats dominated with 68 shots. Unfortunately, the Bobcats’ powerplay was unsuccessful, going 0 for 3, while the Wildcats capitalized on one of their five powerplay opportunities.
Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, had a busy night with 68 shots against her, managing to save 63. On the other side of the rink, Wildcats’ goalie, Olivia Sorlie, faced 39 shots, making 35 saves.
Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts put in an impressive performance, scoring 2 goals for her team. However, it was Wildcats’ #22 Lilly Howell who stole the show, netting a hat trick with 3 goals.
