In an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork, the Montana State University Bobcats delivered a resounding 5-0 victory against the University of Denver Pioneers on November 14, 2025. The game, held at the Family Sports Center, saw the Bobcats dominate the ice with a remarkable 48 shots compared to the Pioneers’ 25.
Despite three powerplay opportunities for each team, neither the Bobcats nor the Pioneers managed to capitalize on these chances. This, however, did not slow down the Bobcats who managed to net five goals without any powerplay assistance.
Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, put on a spectacular performance with a 100% save rate, stopping all 25 shots by the Pioneers. On the other end of the rink, Leia Schaefer of the Pioneers faced a barrage of 48 shots, managing to save 43.
The star of the match was undoubtedly Bobcats’ #6 Erin Gallagher, who scored two of the five goals. On the other hand, Pioneers’ #22 Reese Olson spent two minutes in the penalty box, reflecting the Pioneers’ struggle to keep up with the Bobcats’ aggressive game.
The Bobcats will face the Pioneers again on November 15, this time away at Joy Burns Arena at Ritchie Center. With the momentum from this victory, the Bobcats are expected to put up another strong performance. Stay tuned for more updates on our beloved Bobcats!
