The Montana State University Bobcats showcased their prowess on the ice in a commanding 5-0 victory over the University of Denver Pioneers at the Family Sports Center.
In a game that saw the Bobcats fire an impressive 48 shots on goal, the Pioneers were left scrambling, managing to muster only 25 shots in return. Both teams struggled with their powerplays, going 0/3, however, it was the Bobcats who capitalized on their opportunities in open play.
The star of the show was undoubtedly Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell. Facing 25 shots, Mcconnell made a perfect save record, keeping the Pioneers off the scoreboard entirely. On the other end, Pioneers’ goalie Leia Schaefer had a busy day, facing 48 shots and making 43 saves.
Adding to the offensive firepower for the Bobcats was #6 Erin Gallagher, who netted two of the five goals. On the other hand, Pioneers’ #22 Reese Olson spent some time in the penalty box with 2 penalty minutes.
The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game, which is an away fixture against the same University of Denver team on Saturday, November 15 at the Joy Burns Arena at Ritchie Center.
