The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss on the ice yesterday, falling 3-2 to the Colorado State University Rams. The game, held at the Edora Pool Ice Center in Colorado, saw the Bobcats put up a valiant fight, but ultimately the Rams came out on top.
The Bobcats managed to fire off 25 shots, but the Rams’ goalie, Elizabeth Condon, proved to be a formidable opponent, saving 23 of those attempts. On the other end, Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, faced a barrage of 37 shots, saving 34.
Despite the high shot count, both teams struggled on the powerplay. The Bobcats had 7 opportunities but failed to convert any, while the Rams were equally unsuccessful in their 4 chances.
The lone goal for the Bobcats came from #22 Rylan Lorentz, but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap. The Rams’ #5 Megan McDougall played a crucial role in the victory, assisting on two goals.
The Bobcats will have a chance at redemption as they face the Rams again at the Edora Pool Ice Center on Sunday, October 5th. Despite the setback, the Bobcats are determined to bounce back and give their fans a game to remember. Stay tuned for more updates on the MSU Bobcats’ hockey season.
