The Montana State University Bobcats secured a solid 3-1 victory over the Colorado State University Rams at the Edora Pool Ice Center on October 5, 2025. Despite the Rams’ home advantage and a higher shot count (45), the Bobcats demonstrated superior strategy and execution, resulting in a well-deserved win.

The Bobcats had a total of 43 shots and their goalie, Reese McConnell, put on a stellar performance by saving 44 shots. The Rams’ goalie, Morgan Neibauer, despite a commendable effort, could only manage 40 saves from the 43 shots taken by the Bobcats.

In terms of powerplay, the Bobcats had a single opportunity but couldn’t convert it into a goal. The Rams, on the other hand, had four powerplay opportunities but failed to capitalize on any of them.

The Bobcats’ #4, Maeve Kelleher, and the Rams’ #20, Emme Coquet, were the respective goal scorers for their teams. Kelleher’s goal proved to be pivotal in the Bobcats’ victory.

The Bobcats are now looking forward to their next game, a home match against the University of Colorado on Friday, October 17, at Haynes Pavilion. The team will be aiming to carry the momentum from this victory into their upcoming match. Stay tuned for more updates on the Bobcats’ hockey season.
