It was a challenging night for the Montana State University Bobcats as they faced off against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite a strong effort, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.

The Utes took control of the game early, dominating the ice with a total of 38 shots on goal. The Bobcats, however, were not far behind, firing off 31 shots in the game. Despite the high shot count, the Bobcats were unable to convert their efforts into goals, with the Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano making 29 saves.

The Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, faced a lot of pressure from the Utes’ offense, making 33 saves from the 38 shots he faced. The Bobcats’ power play was unable to gain any traction, going 0 for 2, while the Utes did not have any power play opportunities.

Utes’ forward #12 Morgan Lavalley was the standout player of the game, netting two goals against the Bobcats. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to find the back of the net for one goal.

The Bobcats will have to regroup and refocus for their next game, a home match against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21. The team will surely be looking to bounce back from this loss and put on a strong performance for their home crowd at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink.
