The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging game against the University of Utah Utes on February 20th, 2026. The game, which took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, ended with a score of Utes 5, Bobcats 2.

The Utes outshot the Bobcats with a total of 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite the aggressive offensive play from the Utes, Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell managed to save 33 out of 38 shots. On the other side of the rink, Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano successfully saved 29 out of 31 shots.

Neither team managed to capitalize on their power plays. The Utes had no power play opportunities while the Bobcats had two, but failed to score on either.

The standout player of the game was Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals. For the Bobcats, #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to put one in the net.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game. They will be playing at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, once again at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will be hoping to turn things around and secure a win.
