In a tough matchup on Sunday, the Montana State University Bobcats were defeated by the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2. The game took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink and saw some fierce competition from both sides.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats put up a good fight. They managed to get 31 shots off against the Utes’ 38, showing their determination and drive. However, the Utes’ defense was solid, with their goalie Miranda De Antunano making 29 saves out of 31 shots.
The Bobcats’ own goalie, Reese McConnell, also had a busy night, making 33 saves out of 38 shots. However, the Utes’ offense proved to be too much, with #12 Morgan Lavalley scoring two of the Utes’ five goals.
One of the Bobcats’ highlights was #22 Rylan Lorentz, who managed to score a goal for the team. Unfortunately, the Bobcats couldn’t capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, going 0/2.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, Feb 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team is eager to bounce back and show their fans what they’re made of.
