In a hard-fought contest at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats were defeated by the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2. The game, which took place on February 20th, saw the Utes dominate with 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats showcased their defensive prowess, with their powerplay standing at 0/2. Unfortunately, the Utes’ defense was equally strong, not giving the Bobcats any powerplay opportunities.
The goalkeepers from both teams put up a commendable performance. The Utes’ Miranda De Antunano faced 31 shots and made 29 saves, while the Bobcats’ Reese McConnell dealt with a barrage of 38 shots, making 33 saves.
For the Utes, player #12 Morgan Lavalley was the star of the game, scoring two goals. On the Bobcats’ side, player #22 Rylan Lorentz managed to score one goal.
The Bobcats will have another chance to prove their mettle in their next game at home against Grand Canyon University on February 21st at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Let’s hope they can bounce back from this setback and secure a victory in their upcoming match.
