In a thrilling display of skill and determination, the Montana State University Bobcats clinched a victory over the University of Colorado Buffaloes with a final score of 3-1. The match took place at the Haynes Pavilion on the chilly evening of October 18th, 2025, and the Bobcats certainly gave their fans a night to remember.
Despite the Buffaloes taking more shots at the goal (32 shots) compared to the Bobcats (26 shots), the latter’s defensive prowess shone through. Both teams had an equal number of powerplays with 4 each, but couldn’t manage to convert any into goals.
The goalkeeping was a major highlight of the match. Buffaloes’ goalie, Zoe Watson, faced 26 shots and made 23 saves. However, it was Bobcats’ Reese McConnell who stole the show, saving 31 out of 32 shots.
The goal scorers of the night were Buffaloes’ #6 Anna Masiello and Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts. While Masiello managed to score 1 goal for the Buffaloes, it was Roberts’ spectacular performance that stole the spotlight as she netted the puck twice, leading the Bobcats to victory.
The Bobcats’ next challenge will be an away game against the University of Washington on October 24th at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Washington. The team will undoubtedly be looking to carry forward the momentum from this victory into their next match. Go Bobcats!
