In a thrilling showdown last night, the Montana State University Bobcats secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes at Haynes Pavilion. Despite being outshot by the Pokes, the Bobcats displayed a solid performance, demonstrating their defensive prowess and goalkeeping skills.

The Pokes fired a whopping 55 shots at the Bobcats’ net, but only managed to find the back of the net once, thanks to #2 Zoey Brown. On the other hand, the Bobcats made their 35 shots count, with #26 Nicola Roberts adding to the score sheet.

Both teams had opportunities on the powerplay, but neither could capitalize. The Pokes went 0 for 3, while the Bobcats went 0 for 4. Despite this, the Bobcats’ superior shot conversion rate and defensive solidity saw them through.

A special mention goes to Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, who put up an incredible performance, saving 54 of the 55 shots he faced. On the other side, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed 31 saves from 35 shots.

Looking ahead, the Bobcats will be hoping to maintain their winning momentum as they prepare for their next home game against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for more updates and let’s cheer our Bobcats to another victory!
