The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes in a thrilling ice hockey match on the 20th of February, 2026. The game, which took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado, ended with a 5-2 victory for the Utes.
Both teams displayed impressive skill and tenacity throughout the game, with the Utes taking a total of 38 shots and the Bobcats close behind with 31. Despite the Bobcats’ two powerplay opportunities, they were unable to convert these into goals, while the Utes didn’t have any powerplay chances.
The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, put on a remarkable performance, saving 29 out of the 31 shots taken by the Bobcats. On the other side of the rink, Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell saved 33 out of the 38 shots taken by the Utes.
Highlighting individual performances, Morgan Lavalley of the Utes, wearing jersey number 12, netted two goals, further securing the Utes’ victory. For the Bobcats, Elly Aldrich, number 18, scored a goal, showing a glimmer of hope for the team.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats remain undeterred and are looking forward to their next game. They will be playing at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, once again at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats are eager to bounce back and deliver a strong performance in their upcoming match.
