In an exhilarating match at the Haynes Pavilion on February 7th, 2026, the Montana State University Bobcats demonstrated their prowess on the ice, securing a 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes.
Despite the Pokes taking a staggering 55 shots, it was the Bobcats who emerged victorious, proving once again that quality trumps quantity. The Bobcats took 35 shots, out of which four found their mark, leaving the Pokes goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, with only 31 saves out of 35 shots.
On the other hand, Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, put on a fantastic performance, saving 54 out of 55 shots, allowing only one goal by the Pokes’ #2, Zoey Brown.
Bobcats’ #26, Nicola Roberts, also found the back of the net, contributing to the Bobcats’ triumphant victory. Both teams struggled with their powerplay, with Pokes going 0/3 and Bobcats 0/4, but it was the Bobcats who managed to turn the tide in their favor.
As the Bobcats rejoice in their victory, they are already looking forward to their next game. They will be facing off against the University of Utah on February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats will be hoping to carry this winning momentum into their next game, so stay tuned for more thrilling hockey action.
