In a hard-fought game at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2. Despite a spirited performance, the Bobcats couldn’t quite match the Utes’ firepower on February 20, 2026.
The Utes outshot the Bobcats 38-31, applying consistent pressure throughout the game. However, Bobcats’ goalie, Reese Mcconnell, put in a commendable performance, making 33 saves out of 38 shots. On the Utes side, goalie Miranda De Antunano was equally impressive, saving 29 out of 31 shots.
In terms of powerplay, the Bobcats had a couple of opportunities but couldn’t capitalize on them, going 0 for 2. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any powerplay opportunities during the game.
Standout players of the match included Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals, and Bobcats’ #22 Rylan Lorentz, who netted one for the team.
