The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink last night. The final score stood at Utes 5, Bobcats 2, marking a challenging game for our Bobcats.
The Utes came in strong with a total of 38 shots, while the Bobcats were not far behind with 31 shots. However, the Utes’ defense was solid, with their goalie Miranda De Antunano blocking 29 of the 31 shots. On the other side of the rink, Bobcats’ Reese McConnell made 33 saves of the 38 shots by the Utes.
Neither team was able to capitalize on powerplays, with the Utes at 0/0 and the Bobcats at a disappointing 0/2. This was a missed opportunity for the Bobcats to gain some ground.
The Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley was a force to be reckoned with, scoring two goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to score a goal, providing a glimmer of hope.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game. They will be playing at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the same venue. The team is eager to bounce back and give their fans a game to remember. Let’s rally behind our Bobcats and cheer them on to victory!
