In a thrilling game on February 20, 2026, the Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats were defeated 5-2 in a game that saw the Utes dominating on the ice.
Both teams showcased their offensive prowess with the Utes taking 38 shots and the Bobcats not far behind with 31. The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had an impressive performance with 29 saves out of 31 shots. On the other side, Bobcats’ Reese McConnell also put up a strong fight, saving 33 out of the 38 shots taken by the Utes.
The powerplay game didn’t favor either team, with the Utes not having a chance at all and the Bobcats failing to capitalize on their two opportunities.
The star of the match was undoubtedly Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals. Bobcats’ #22 Rylan Lorentz also had a notable performance with one goal to his name.
