In a hard-fought game at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2.
The Utes managed to outshoot the Bobcats, with a total of 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31. Despite the Bobcats’ best efforts, the Utes’ offensive pressure proved to be too much. The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, put on a stellar performance, saving 29 out of 31 shots. On the other end of the ice, the Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell made 33 saves on 38 shots.
The Bobcats had the opportunity to close the gap during two powerplays, but unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize on these chances. The Utes did not have any powerplay opportunities during the game.
The Utes’ number 12, Morgan Lavalley, was the standout player of the game, netting two goals. For the Bobcats, number 18, Elly Aldrich, managed to find the back of the net for one goal.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game. They will be playing at home against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, back at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back and secure a win in their next game.
