The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Wyoming Pokes on February 7th, 2026, at the Haynes Pavilion. The final score was a victorious 4-1 in favor of the Bobcats, showcasing their formidable strength on home ice.
Despite the Pokes firing off an impressive 55 shots, the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, was a veritable wall with 54 saves. On the other side of the rink, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed 31 saves out of the 35 shots taken by the Bobcats.
The Pokes’ only goal came from #2 Zoey Brown, while the Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts added one to their tally. Both teams, however, struggled with their powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The Bobcats’ victory over the Pokes is a testament to their resilience and tenacity. Despite being outshot, they managed to outscore their opponents and secure a well-deserved win.
