The Montana State University Bobcats took home a decisive victory against the University of Wyoming Pokes last night at the Haynes Pavilion. The final score was 4-1 in favor of the Bobcats, marking a significant win for the team.
The Pokes outshot the Bobcats with a total of 55 shots against the Bobcats’ 35. Despite this, the Bobcats’ defense held strong, with goalie Reese McConnell making an impressive 54 saves out of 55 shots. On the other side, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash made 31 saves out of 35 shots.
In terms of powerplay, both teams struggled. The Pokes were 0/3, while the Bobcats were slightly better at 0/4. Despite the lack of powerplay success, both teams managed to score. Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown and Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts both netted a goal each.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game, a home match against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will surely be hoping for another victory to continue their winning streak.
