The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes this past Saturday at the Salt Lake City Sports Complex, and unfortunately, the Bobcats fell short with a final score of 0-5 in favor of the Utes.
The game saw the Bobcats struggling to find their offensive rhythm, managing just 10 shots on goal compared to the Utes’ 42 shots. Despite having opportunities on the powerplay, the Bobcats were unable to convert, going 0/4 on the man advantage. On the other hand, the Utes also struggled on the powerplay, going 0/2.
In the net, Bobcats goalie Kate Harris faced a barrage of shots, making an impressive 37 saves out of the 42 shots she faced. On the other side, Utes goalie Miranda De Antunano stopped all 10 shots she faced, earning a shutout for her team.
The game was not without its physicality, as Bobcats’ #17 Maya Griffin spent 2 penalty minutes in the box. Despite the efforts of the Bobcats, it was the Utes’ #11 Halle Hansen who stood out with 2 goals in the game.
While the outcome was not what the Bobcats had hoped for, the team can use this game as a learning experience and motivation to come back stronger in their next matchup. It’s important to analyze what went wrong, make adjustments, and continue to work hard in practice to improve for future games.
The Bobcats will regroup, refocus, and look ahead to their next game with determination and a drive to bounce back. Stay tuned for more updates and support your Montana State University Bobcats as they continue their journey in the ACHA! Let’s go Bobcats!
