The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Colorado Buffaloes in an intense battle on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at the University of Colorado Boulder Recreation Center. The game ended with a final score of Bobcats 2 – Buffaloes 3 after an overtime period.
It was a tough match for the Bobcats as they faced a barrage of shots from the Buffaloes, with the Bobcats managing 13 shots compared to the Buffaloes’ impressive 63 shots. Despite being outshot, the Bobcats put up a strong fight and had some key opportunities on the powerplay, although they were unable to convert on all three attempts.
In goal, Bobcats’ netminder Kate Harris put on a stellar performance facing a staggering 63 shots and making an impressive 60 saves. On the other end, Buffaloes’ goalie Andi Bierbaum faced 13 shots and made 11 saves to secure the win for her team.
The Bobcats’ lone goalscorer of the game was #18 Elly Aldrich who found the back of the net, while the Buffaloes’ offense was led by #55 Mia Fiscelli who scored two goals to propel her team to victory.
Although the Bobcats fell short in this matchup, they showed resilience and determination throughout the game. The team will look to regroup and bounce back stronger in their next game as they continue to strive for success in the ACHA league.
