The Montana State University Bobcats delivered a triumphant performance against the University of Wyoming Pokes last night at Haynes Pavilion. The final score was a decisive 9-3 in favor of the Bobcats, showcasing the team’s offensive prowess and solid defense.
The Bobcats dominated the game with a staggering 58 shots, compared to the Pokes’ 32. Despite the Pokes’ attempts to gain an edge with five powerplays, they failed to convert any into goals. The Bobcats, on the other hand, had three powerplays, but also couldn’t capitalize on them.
The goalie play was crucial in this matchup. The Pokes’ Alayna Smith was kept busy, facing 58 shots and making 49 saves. On the other side of the rink, the Bobcats’ Emma Carlson stood strong with 29 saves on 32 shots.
Standout performances included Pokes’ #40 Lena Roubinek, who managed to score 2 goals despite the team’s overall struggles. For the Bobcats, #19 Aziana Schacht had an exceptional game, contributing 4 assists that helped secure the team’s victory.
