The Montana State University Bobcats showed their mettle last night with a 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes at Haynes Pavilion. The Pokes, despite having a higher shot count of 55 compared to the Bobcats’ 35, were only able to net one goal against the Bobcats’ solid defense.

The Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, had an impressive night, saving 54 out of 55 shots. His counterpart, Pudgie Sabinash of the Pokes, faced 35 shots and managed to save 31, but it wasn’t enough to stave off the Bobcats’ offensive onslaught.

Both teams struggled on power plays, with the Pokes going 0 for 3 and the Bobcats 0 for 4. However, the Bobcats made up for it with their strong offensive play. Nicola Roberts, #26 of the Bobcats, added a goal to her tally, contributing to the Bobcats’ victory.

The Pokes’ only goal came from Zoey Brown, #2, who managed to find the back of the net despite the Bobcats’ strong defensive showing.

The Bobcats are looking to carry this momentum into their next game at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Be sure to catch the action as the Bobcats aim to continue their winning streak.
