The Montana State University Bobcats delivered an impressive performance last night, securing a 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes at the Haynes Pavilion. Despite being outshot 55-35, the Bobcats proved that quality trumps quantity when it comes to finding the back of the net.
The Pokes applied relentless pressure, but the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, was the star of the night. McConnell faced a barrage of 55 shots, allowing only one to slip past him. On the other side of the rink, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash faced 35 shots, managing to save 31.
The Pokes’ lone goal came from #2 Zoey Brown, while the Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts was among the scorers for the home team. However, both teams failed to capitalize on powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The Bobcats will be looking to take this momentum into their next game, which is set to be a home game against the University of Utah on February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats’ fans will be hoping for another victory to keep the winning streak going.
