The Montana State University Bobcats skated to victory on home ice last night, defeating the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. Despite the Pokes outshooting the Bobcats 55 to 35, it was the Bobcats who managed to find the back of the net more frequently.
In a game marked by solid defensive efforts, both teams struggled to capitalize on powerplay opportunities. The Pokes failed to convert any of their three powerplay chances, while the Bobcats couldn’t make use of their four powerplay opportunities.
Pudgie Sabinash, the Pokes’ goalie, faced 35 shots and made 31 saves. On the other side of the rink, the Bobcats’ Reese McConnell had an outstanding performance, stopping 54 of the 55 shots he faced.
The goal scorers of the night were Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown and Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts, each netting one for their respective teams.
The Bobcats will look to continue their winning momentum in their next game against the University of Utah. The match is scheduled for Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Be sure to catch the action as the Bobcats aim for another victory on home ice.
