Last night at Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious over the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. Despite the Pokes outshooting the Bobcats 55-35, the Bobcats’ defense, led by goalie Reese McConnell, held strong.
McConnell was the star of the game, making an incredible 54 saves out of 55 shots. On the other end, Pokes goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed 31 saves out of 35 shots. Both teams struggled with powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts and the Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown each scored a goal. However, it was the Bobcats who managed to net three more, securing their victory.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game, a home match against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. Stay tuned for more exciting Bobcats hockey action!
