The Montana State University Bobcats dominated the ice last night, securing a 4-1 victory against the University of Wyoming Pokes in a thrilling game at the Haynes Pavilion. Despite the Pokes’ aggressive offense, firing off 55 shots to the Bobcats’ 35, the Bobcats’ defense held strong with goalie Reese McConnell making an impressive 54 saves.
The Pokes’ only goal came from #2 Zoey Brown, while the Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts also found the back of the net. Both teams struggled to capitalize on power plays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, put up a valiant effort, saving 31 of the 35 shots taken by the Bobcats. However, it simply wasn’t enough to quell the Bobcats’ roaring offense.
This victory propels the Bobcats forward with a renewed momentum as they prepare for their next game against the University of Utah. The game is set to take place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on Friday, February 20th.
Stay tuned for more updates and let’s continue to support our Bobcats as they take on their next challenge. Go Bobcats!
