In a thrilling contest at the Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats defeated the University of Wyoming Pokes 4-1 on February 7th, 2026. Despite being outshot by the Pokes, the Bobcats displayed exceptional resilience and strategic play to emerge victorious.
The Pokes dominated the early game, firing 55 shots at the Bobcats’ goal. However, the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, put on a stellar performance, saving an impressive 54 shots. On the other end, Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, faced 35 shots and managed to save 31.
Both teams struggled with their powerplay, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats slightly worse off at 0/4. However, the Bobcats made the most of their opportunities, capitalizing on their chances to score.
The Pokes’ only goal was scored by #2 Zoey Brown. For the Bobcats, #26 Nicola Roberts found the back of the net, contributing to the team’s victory.
