In a riveting game of hockey, the Montana State University Bobcats secured a decisive victory against the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. The game took place at the Haynes Pavilion on February 7, 2026, and the Bobcats proved their mettle on home ground.
Despite the Pokes making a whopping 55 shots, the Bobcats’ defense held strong. Their goalie, Reese McConnell, was the star of the show with an impressive 54 saves out of 55 shots. On the other hand, the Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, could only manage 31 saves out of 35 shots.
The game wasn’t just about defense though. The Bobcats also showed their offensive prowess with #26 Nicola Roberts scoring a goal. The Pokes’ only goal of the night was scored by #2 Zoey Brown.
Neither team could capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats going 0/4. But it was the Bobcats’ superior defense and goal-scoring ability that won them the game.
The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game. They will be facing off against the University of Utah at home on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Stay tuned for more exciting hockey action!
